Information about Lauren
I am an easy going, bubbly person who loves to help others any way I can.
Iâve been around swimming since the age of four when I first began learning.
I joined a swim team aged 10 and began swimming competitively with that team at age 12.
I was a cadet with the St. John Ambulance from ages 10-14 and won cadet of the year award at age 11.
I am a qualified pool lifeguard with Irish a Water Safety AND The Royal Life Saving Society.
I am a qualified swim teacher with Irish Water Safety.
I qualified and competed in nationals 3 years in a row with my 100m Breastroke and one of the years I swam with both my 100m Breaststroke and 100m Freestyle (front crawl).
I gave up swimming competitively at aged 18 as I was too old to continue competing with the team I had been with for the previous 8 years.
I was thought, coached and believed in by the same wonderful woman from age four all the way up to when I finally made the decision to leave my racing days behind me. From learning to swim to competing on a team to being trained as a lifeguard, I owe almost all of my knowledge about the world of swimming to my teacher, coach and second mother Jackie.
Now I want to pass on her knowledge and be able to teach others the way Jackie thought me not only how to swim but also essential life skills that could save someoneâs life.
